Purpose:

 

To provide a clarification of the 3-Point System for Standings of teams governed by Logan County Soccer Club

 

Policy:

 

It is the policy of Logan County Soccer Club to utilize the 3-Point System of Standings to determine the ranking of all teams governed by LCSC.

 

Scope:

 

Logan County Soccer Club

 

Responsibility:

 

Board of Directors, Logan County Soccer Club

 

Procedure:

 

1.                  Points will be awarded to teams governed by LCSC as follows:

 

Ψ      Win – 3 points

 

Ψ      Tie – 1 point

 

Ψ      Loss – 0 points

 

2.                  Points will be detracted from teams governed by LCSC for offenses of LCSC Policies and Procedures as follows but not limited to:

 

Ψ      3 Yellow cards (cumulative/season) – loss of 1 point

 

Ψ      2 Yellow cards in one game (equals a Red Card – same person) – loss of 2 points

 

Ψ      Red Card (not a second Yellow) – loss of 3 points for each Red Card issued

Ψ      Unsporting behavior - Coaches, spectators

§         Abusive or Foul language (verbal or written) by spectators to players, coaches, referees, other spectators, or LCSC representatives

§         Physical altercations with players, coaches, referees, other spectators, or LCSC representatives (charges will be filed on top of the loss of points)

 §         Unsporting/demeaning behavior towards opposing team.

 

Ψ      Last game of season, winning team not taking down the nets - loss of 3 points (in case of tie, 1 point will be detracted from each team)

 

Ψ      Team walking off field, failure to finish game – loss of 3 points

 

Ψ      Leaving trash after completion of a game as determined by the Referee:

 

-     First Offense – loss of 1 point

-     Second Offense – loss of 2 points

-     Third Offense – loss of 3 points

-     Subsequent offenses will be cumulative (4th offense – loss of 4

 points, etc.)

 

Ψ      7 goal differential

-          a final score with the winning team scoring over 7 goals more than their opponent will be considered unsporting

-     First Offense – loss of 1 point

-     Second Offense – loss of 2 points

-     Third Offense – loss of 3 points

-     Subsequent offenses will be cumulative (4th offense – loss of 4

 points, etc.)

 

3.                  Upon completion of the Spring season, all team’s standings will be determined by the amount of points they have accumulated over the course of the season.  Team rankings for each division will be as follows:

1st Place - The team with the most cumulative points for the season

2nd Place – The team with the second most cumulative points for the

         season

3rd Place – The team with the third most cumulative points for the season

·        All other teams will be ranked according to their cumulative points.  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies will be awarded for the teams with the points standings for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, all other teams will receive participant awards.
