Purpose:

 

To provide guidelines in the case of a game governed by the Logan County Soccer Club being terminated prior to completion.

 

Policy:

 

It is the policy of LCSC that all games begun as scheduled be completed unless extenuating circumstances make it necessary to terminate the game prior to completion.  Should a termination occur, the game will be referred to the Player Committee.

Procedure:

 

1.      Termination of a game due to inclement weather:

 

a.      If it becomes necessary to terminate a game due to inclement weather, one of the following options will be used:

 

1.      If 51% or more of the game has been completed, the referee may call the game.  The Player Committee will award the win to the team that was leading by goals when the game was called or award a tie to both teams if the game was tied.

 

2.      If less than 50% of the game has been completed when the referee calls the game due to inclement weather, the game will be rescheduled as per Logan County Soccer Club Policy LCSCS0003

2.      Termination of a game due to lack of players:

 

a.      A game may be terminated by the referee if the following conditions apply:

 

1.      A team has less than the required amount of players to start the game.

 

2.      A team that has lost players due to injury, Red Card, or two Yellow Cards (equaling a Red Card), resulting in that team not having the required amount of players to continue the game.

 

3.      Termination of a game due to a player or coach not vacating the area after the issuance of a Red Card or a second Yellow card:

 

a.      A game may be terminated by the referee if the following conditions apply:

 

1.      A player that has been issued a Red Card, or a second Yellow Card, refuses to leave the field of play and/or refuses to vacate the area after leaving the field of play.

 

2.      A coach that has been issued a Red Card, or a second Yellow Card, refuses to vacate the area.

 

4.      Termination of a game due to the referee being incapable of completing the game:

 

a.       A game may be terminated if any of the following conditions apply:

 

1.      The referee has been incapacitated due to:

 

a.       injury

 

b.      illness

 

2.      The referee has had to leave the field during the match due to injury or illness of a family member.

 

3.      The referee has had to leave the field of play for the above reasons and there is not a replacement referee to continue the game.

5.  Termination of a game due to a team leaving the field of play:

             

            a.  A game may be terminated at the referee’s discretion if a team leaves

            the field of play during a game for any reason and refuses to re-take the field to continue the game.
