End of Season Tie Breakers

Purpose:

To establish guidelines for end of season tie breakers to establish final standings

 

Policy:

 

It is the policy of Logan County Soccer Club that the following tie breakers will determine the final standings:

 

1.      Head to head competition

-         goals for

-         goals against

 

2.      Teams played (won/loss record versus common teams played)

 

3.      Yellow/Red Cards (total combined cards)

 

4.      Playoff Game

Board of Directors, Logan County Soccer Club

 

Procedure:

 

1.      Head to Head competition will determine final standings in the event that two or more teams have the same final record:

-         goals for – the team with the most goals scored will be determined the higher standing team.

-         goals against – in the event the teams have the same amount of goals scored for them, goals allowed against the teams will be used to determine standing.  The team with the fewest goals against will be determined the higher standing team.

2.      Teams played (won/loss record versus common teams played)

 

3.      Yellow/Red Cards

-         in the even that criteria 1 & 2 fail to determine the standings, the team with the fewest Yellow/Red cards (total combined cards) will be determined the higher standing team.

 

4.      Playoff game

-         In the event that criteria 1 through 3 do not determine the team with the higher standing, a playoff game will be scheduled prior to Awards Day.  The winner of the playoff game will be the team that is determined to be the higher standing team.
