Date Implemented:

November, 2004

Approved By:

LCSC Governing Board

Reviewed/Revised:

August, 2006

Purpose:

To establish in Policy and Procedure the Team Formation Guidelines that have been established by LCSC.

Policy:

It is the policy of Logan County Soccer Club that no player will be placed contradictorily to the LCSC ByLaws or any other governing body that LCSC is responsible to.

Scope:

Logan County Soccer Club

Responsibility:

Board of Directors, Logan County Soccer Club

Procedure:

1.                  All teams formed will play in a recreational league.

2.                  All teams will be formed by age and gender to insure consistency when moving through the age brackets. When a player has requested to 'play up', one year will be added to their age as of the August 1st preceeding team formation, and then placed accordingly.

3.                  Upon recommendation of LCSC Registrar, the Board of Directors may allow re-formation of existing teams to make gender specific teams should the number of male and female players allow for gender specific competition.

4.                  Each team may have one (1) Head Coach and one (1) Assistant Coach.

5.                  Team age and gender is based on the child of the Head Coach of the team (male/female, age by birth-date at beginning of season).

6.                  All remaining players assigned to the team should be of the same age group (U4, U5, U6, U8, etc.) and gender when possible.

7.                  Requests to play on a specific team will be discouraged.  Extenuating circumstances may be presented to the Player Committee for review (see policy LCSC0019).

8.                  Returning players (consecutive seasons) may be placed back on the same team.

9.                  Returning players (non-consecutive seasons) will be placed in the Player Pool to promote parity in the league.  Unless the player was on the High School team and that team will be playing in the recreational U19 bracket and a roster from the previous season must be provided.

10.             New players (and returning players from non-consecutive season) will be placed according to age, gender, and to provide teams with an even number of players and to provide parity among teams.

11.             When applicable, teams may be formed by geographic region within Logan County for reasons of transportation and practice (ie; Crescent, Coyle, Langston, etc.).

12.             Existing teams have priority over newly formed teams and consecutive season returning players stay on consecutive season returning teams (does not apply when a team is dominant, as per FCSA).

13.             The Registrar may, with the 2nd Vice President, create new teams after team formation if there are enough children to field a team and provided the team has a coach.

14.             Competitive Teams will be formed in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Competitive Director and applicable Governing Bodies.
