Purpose:

Soccer is an exhilarating sport and a passionate game.  We should always remember that our attitude is contagious.  The other team is our opponent, not our enemy, and thus should be treated with respect.  While winning is fun, playing well and playing fairly is the essence of the game.  Our children follow our example and as such we should strive to set the best example for them by our actions.  Coaches, players, parents, referees, and Club officials are all a part of Logan County Soccer Club, and as members are expected to adhere to the ByLaws, Policies & Procedures, rules of the Club and Laws of the game.

Procedure:

As a participant of Logan County Soccer Club, I will set a good example for the kids of the Club by adhering to the following at all times:

·        I will not criticize the referee openly or directly during or after games.  Any criticism shall be done in writing to the coach of my child’s team or to the LCSC Board of Directors.

·        I will only give positive feedback to players and I will cheer at all games within the spirit of fair play and shall do my best to cheer the effort regardless of the outcome.  I will be mindful of “lopsided” games where cheering our own “winning” team may be misunderstood.

·        I will do my best to teach our players to become students of the game.

·        I will do my best to find the successes that our team has during each game.

·        I will show the quality of my sportsmanship during and after each and every game and to help remind our team to thank the referee after the match regardless of the result.

·        I will do my best to have my player(s) prepared for every game.

·        I will support the learning effort of the players, coaches, and referees by demonstrating patience.

·        I understand that improper behavior by a spectator/parent at a game may result in the Coach being asked to leave the field by the referee, or LCSC official.  The Coach of my players’ team may receive a Caution or even an Ejection due to the behavior of a parent/spectator.

·        I will leave the coaching to the Coach during the game and not interfere with the Coach’s instructions.

·        I understand that (upon review) the LCSC can, and will if necessary, suspend the privilege of watching my child(ren) play should I behave in a rude or offensive manner.

I agree to do my best to have as much fun watching the game as the players should have playing the game.
